The possibility of describing the chaotic state of dynamical systems using a distribution function is considered. It is shown that for dissipative systems, the state of which corresponds to a chaotic attractor, an adequate description is possible with some averaging of the statistical distribution function over small volume elements in the phase space. The equation for the smoothed distribution function is obtained. The results are used to calculate the emission spectra of dynamical systems in a chaotic state.
